Nest Living is a beautifully clean ecommerce site, which showcases designer furniture and lighting for the home. Page elements are muted and the use of white space lets the product images sing.

The idea behind DBH is very clever and the website is great too. Huge product images give you a real understanding of the t-shirt designs and the checkout process is wonderful. A super-human effort.

Generally, I find printer’s websites fairly dreadful - not Inkd however. I really like the fonts used across the site and the blue navigation really ‘pops’! The dropdown menus work really well and the work showcased on the site is also wonderful.

Apart from the odd exception, most websites aimed at dog lovers are fairly twee – this one certainly isn’t. A sweet colour scheme, clear typography, great products and some lovely images from Adam Queen make it a joy to use. Try zooming into their product photos… woof!

Opera Magé sell Italian food on their lovely ecommerce site. The product photography across the site looks consistent and the colours used throughout work really well together. I especially like the footer navigation, dark wood background and cute basket icon. Meraviglioso!

Flo Braker has an exceedingly good website. In fact, it puts Mr Kipling’s to shame. Simple navigation, a beautiful colour scheme and pixel perfect typography make this a joy to use. Like Flo’s Pear-Almond Galette, simplicity is key - I can almost taste the CSS goodness!

Mobile Web Design is a book by Cameron Moll. His site has an atypical layout that works really well - focussing on a large central graphic with a retro background. The colour palette and fonts used also work beautifully.

I love Threadless, their t-shirts are great quality and the designs available are always on-point. The site (like the t-shirts) is a mix of different styles and illustrations, but somehow it all works rather well. This site has been around for a while now and I like the way it has evolved into a properly [...]

Sweet! Sucre is selling incredible candy online at www.shopsucre.com. The site uses appetising browns, pinks and greens as a backdrop to wonderfully vivid product photography. Check out their equally beautiful store on the ‘About’ page. They should open a store in London. Soon.

Uniqlo is a great store, with an equally good website. I love it when an eCommerce store is a pleasure to use (this doesn’t happen too often!) and Uniqlo is exactly that. A great use of Flash on the homepage entices you into the store, where the products are uncluttered and shown in great detail [...]
